Smart Automation: Finding a Rental Home Faster
Challenge
In 2024, the young couple Charlotte and Tymo were intensively searching for a rental home in the competitive market of Nijmegen. They faced a common problem: response time. By the time they saw a new listing online and were able to respond, other interested parties were often ahead of them. This caused a lot of frustration. They asked YWARE for a solution that could help them react faster to new listings, even while they were at work or studying.
YWARE's Contribution
YWARE's approach was to develop an automated software solution. First, together with Charlotte and Tymo, we identified the specific websites they focused their search on. Then, YWARE developed a small application that could periodically monitor these websites for new listings matching their criteria. As soon as a suitable home was detected, the application immediately sent a pre-written standard response.
An important point of attention during development was ethical and responsible use. To prevent the tool from being flagged as unwanted bot activity or a (D)DoS attempt by the housing websites, the monitoring frequency was carefully calibrated. The software mimicked a natural search pattern, ensuring the websites were not unnecessarily burdened and the tool could do its job effectively and unnoticed.
Result
Thanks to the automation solution developed by YWARE, Charlotte and Tymo were able to respond significantly faster to suitable housing listings. The wonderful result: they have since found a beautiful home in Nijmegen!
