Your license key
YWhisper unlocks with a key we send you by email. It starts with YW1. Paste it into the app once and it keeps working, including when you are offline. The key is stored in your Mac's keychain and never leaves it, apart from the daily check described below.
If YWhisper says your license is no longer active
That means the key has been switched off on our side. Dictation, recording and transcription stop, but nothing you have already recorded is touched: your recordings, transcripts and summaries stay on your Mac and you can still play and export them. Get in touch and we will sort it out.
What the app sends us
Once a day YWhisper asks yware.nl whether your key is still active, and sends the key plus a short anonymous code for the Mac it is running on. Nothing else. No recordings, no transcripts, no names. If we cannot be reached, the app carries on as normal.
Updates
YWhisper checks for new versions through the same license. When one is available it tells you what changed and installs it only after you agree. You can turn the automatic check off in Settings and update by hand instead.
